The USA Racquetball Board of Directors has released the results of its annual election. A trio of candidates earned three-year terms through general election by the membership. They are:
Laurel Davis of Illinois, new to the USAR Board, who is in her sixth term as president of the Illinois State Racquetball Association (ISRA).
Larry Haemmerle of Colorado, acting USAR vice president who has been a director on the
Board since last August in an appointed seat. Larry also serves as vice president of the Colorado Racquetball Association (CRA).
Annie Muniz of Texas, a returning Board member who also served more than 20 years as president of the Texas Racquetball Association (TXRA).
USA Racquetball extends its utmost gratitude to Merijean Kelley, who has served with tireless dedication and meticulous attention to detail as USAR Board treasurer. Merijean is involved in nearly every
aspect of racquetball at the national, state and local levels. The sport is truly fortunate to benefit from the commitment of this outstanding individual.
As the new Board members are seated, rotating off the USAR Board will be Jay Mathis, who has completed his second consecutive board term and retires with the Board’s praise for his tenacity and candor as well as his vast technological contributions, including creation of the Facility Directory on the USAR website.
This is the first time that USA Racquetball has utilized online voting. The USOC Audit Department collaborated with the association to ensure confidentiality and provide results, and the association expresses its gratitude for their support. Kudos also go to Ryan Rodgers and Board member JoAnna Reyes for their work in ensuring the success of this
inaugural election effort.
